About

Around 60 participants from 14 countries attended the first EuroBioForum on the role of national funders, bioclusters and regions in Personalised Medicine, held in Brussels on 18 April 2012.

The first forum mainly served as a place to get to know each other as stakeholders and to share thoughts on how to start removing the plethora of barriers that Personalised Medicine has to overcome before it will be fully implemented in the healthcare system of the different European countries. A more elaborate report can be found here.

EuroBioForum Annual Meetings

Over the coming four years, EuroBioForum will organise Annual Meetings in which the challenges of the field of Personalised Medicine will be analysed and discussed, and goals for the future will be set. The focus of every Annual Meeting will be different and will elaborate on the previous meetings. The preliminary thematic approach is:

2011: Preparatory meeting (11 May)
2012: Perspectives from funders and regions (18 April)
2013: A collaborative approach to Personalised Medicine (27-28 May)
2014: Ageing & Personalised Medicine (April)
2014: Epilogue meeting (October)

EuroBioForum 2012: Perspectives from funders and regions

The objective of EuroBioForum 2012 is to provide insight in current national and regional policies, funding instrumentation and strategic agendas in Personalised Medicine. Participants are able to meet other players in the field of Personalised Medicine and learn from each other’s experiences and set up new networks for cooperation.

Presentations by leading experts will offer a snapshot of current national and regional policy developments and funding instrumentation for research and innovation in Personalised Medicine. The meeting will serve as a forum to exchange views on:

The Annual Meetings are intended especially for representatives of national governments, regional goverments, bioclusters, regional development agencies, funding agencies, national research councils, learned societies, industrial federations and patient fora.

EuroBioForum Community

EuroBioForum strongly believes that solely organising meetings is not enough to meet the challenges and to optimise collaboration in Personalised Medicine.  The EuroBioForum website will therefore function as an online platform in which funders, policy makers, scientists and everyone else involved in Personalised Medicine can share their thoughts and ideas. The online community will also function as a tool to gain insight into key players in Personalised Medicine in Europe.
